These pictures were on one of the first really warm days. We went out and got some lunch and took it to the park. It was perfect weather. We've been out to D.I. and other thrift shops, on walks and out to lunch. The flowers he bought a while ago look really good too. We made some peanut butter pine cones for the birds and put them outside. He hasn't wanted to make any more since the first time. He's gone fishing and I know he's looking forward to going again. Michael lost his key to his place the other day (The one with his knife on it) I looked ALL over the place, even in places that it couldn't be. We could not find it. Wouldn't you know it, Jerry came over to visit Michael and he found it under his chair! That's the only place I didn't look. Oh well, I'm glad he got it back, I know he really likes that knife. We had a chance to clean out his closet. He has so many shirts. We went through them and he told me the ones he didn't like. We set those aside for Jerry, if he wants them. He's so nice, everytime we go out, he's always looking for things for me ;) The only different thing for him is that he has been a little weaker in his legs. I have him use his walker when he goes out. He likes to show everyone that he is using it. When we were at the store, we looked to see if we could find some kind of carrier for the front of his walker. It would be nice and helpful for him. Michael is always so happy and seems to be in a good mood. He'll be getting his hair cut soon too. 

I had Michael start to use his walker when we go out. He says 'no, no, no'... Now he just gives me a 'look'. He's been weaker lately. The first day we used it, he was walking all over the store; something he wouldn't have been able to do earlier. He still uses his cane when he's at home. He starts out not wanting to take his walker but once he's out, I think he likes that he can get around better. Even though he's been a little weaker he's still in good spirits and wants to go out. He had a Dr's. Appt. the other day, and all is good.

March 25, 2016

Michael seems back to himself today. We hung the little pine cone bird feeders that we made on the trees outside. Michael has a lot more pine cones and we can make more if the birds like them. We did a few quick exercises today before we went out. We went to Walgreen's to pick up some drinks. He wanted to go to D.I. and was even clapping his hands. He's been wanting to go but for one reason or another, we haven't gone for a little while. Michael has been having a really hard time lately using his cane. His legs are getting really weak and it's harder for him to walk very far. We got out his walker and I explained why he needed to use it. I hope that he does. I think it will help him out a lot. 

Michael had a Dr. appt. on Tuesday the 22nd. He was weak and confused. We went up to Veronica, the nurse at Highland Cove and she took his BP. It was a little low and has been, due to his new med's. 

His plants are doing a lot better too, now that he's not watering them so much. He has me look at them when I come over. 

I didn't go over on Friday March 18th. I wasn't feeling very well. 

 February-March 2016

Michael has wanted to spend a lot more time out lately, but we've been able to get his exercises done. Some days, we just use his walking as exercise and not do the other leg exercises. He has been having a harder time walking lately. I keep an eye on him and suggest we go back when I notice he's having a hard time. We haven't been able to practice his words too much. I have done them with him and he's getting better at them. It's something I need to keep up.
We went to the Dollar Store and Michael picked out some flowers that he liked and he made a spring wreath. It turned out great! 
We've been to D.I., thrift stores, shopping and out to lunch.

Michael was down in his room watching TV. He's usually upstairs waiting for me. I thought maybe he didn't feel good and was down in his room. I was surprised to see his chair was pretty much off of the ground and tipped up. He said someone was coming to fix it. He showed me his plants and how well they are doing; he seems to be proud of it :) He got me a coffee and we did a few combo exercises and then went to Walgreen's to pick up a couple things for him. We went to D.I. afterwards and then we picked up lunch at McDonald's and took it to my house and had lunch there. When we were driving back, he said 'that was good'. 
I won't see him on Friday, I'll be in AZ but I'll see him next week.

We did a few combo exercises today and then we went to Walmart to check if they have any clip on sunglasses. They had some but they weren't big enough. We went to Goodwill and Michael found a cool new hat and he got one for Jerry too :) we went to lunch at Wendy's afterwards.

Michael said that his clip on sunglasses broke. After exercises; which he did a good job at, we went to the Dollar store and another store to look for some. He found some sunglasses that he liked Dollar Tree. Afterwards, I thought they looked kinda funny on top of his other glasses so we'll keep looking for clip on sunglasses. We picked up some lunch for him and brought it home and I started a movie for him so he could watch a movie while he ate lunch.

I didn't go over today, I had to work for a friend. 

I spent a little more time with Michael today to make up for the other day. He gave me coffee first thing :) we sat and visited for a few minutes and then cleaned up and did exercises. He had a hard time following directions but did a good job. Instead of practicing his word's, we worked on following directions. We went to Dollar tree, D.I. and Sugar House BBB for lunch, then we went to Home Depot to pick up some nails. I mentioned that I had to work for a friend on Tuesday. He said 'you'll still be back on Thursday, I mean Friday though right?' I told him I would. He did a great job asking that.

I didn't stay long at all today. My dad has been in the hospital. We did exercises and word matching and then I walked Michael up to lunch. We'll go out on Friday.

It was a snowy day today. We worked on exercises, words, phrases and sentences. Michael did good on exercises; even remembering the number seven! :) Michael wanted to go to D.I. he didn't stay there long today. We went to McDonald's for lunch. He's having a harder time walking very far before his legs get weak. I've really tried to get him to use his cane, I know he gets tired of hearing it. Maybe one day it will stick :)

Holy coffee! :) I was a little late this morning, still not feeling great. We took down Christmas decorations and the tree. He helped me to clean up and when we were done with that we did some free standing exercises; squats and toe rises. I took Michael to Dollar Tree to pick some things he needed. Better to pay half price or less when you can :) we went to Burger King afterwards.
