Michael showed me his flowers today. They didn't make it :/ we'll have to go out and get some that are already grown and put those in his flower pots. We did one set of exercises and read a few words, he was telling me in his own way that he needed to get more bird seed. He decided he wanted to to out to eat too. We went to 'the place on the corner' Burger King, had lunch and then went to Walmart to get some bird food. I showed him how much less it is there than at Backyard Birds. He said he would tell Jerry about that place (Walmart.) We went to Michael's craft store and got an unfinished wooden bird house for him to paint. We will do that on Tuesday. We saw Cody at Michael's. He works at Highland Cove. He wanted to go to Walgreen's too on the way back but I told him we could do that on Friday.

We just had time to do exercises today. We were going to go and get some shaving creme but Jerry got that already. Thanks Jerry! I left out some papers that I asked Michael to practice. He said he would. They were the fill in the blanks and reading words, phrases and sentences.

Michael was telling me today that he needed a bigger bird feeder. The one he has now is too small and the birds really eat up the food fast. After his exercises (He had a really hard time counting today) we went to Backyard Birds and bought a bigger bird feeder and some bird food. It was really raining today! 

Friday June 13th 

We missed the flag ceremony but had lunch on the patio for father's day. It was a a nice lunch. I

took a picture of Michael but it turned out too dark. Michael said that Jerry was going to come and get him later and they were going to go fishing :)

Tuesday June 10th

After we finished up exercises we had lunch upstairs then went to Dollar Tree and the thrift store next door. He liked that one. It's pretty big. He sometimes says things that make me laugh. I forgot what it was but we both laughed about it. We want to get him a birdhouse but one that is wooden that he can either paint or decorate how he wants to. 

The week of June 3rd and June 6th I'm not sure what we did but we did end up going out on Tuesday  

Michael showed me that he got some birdseed for the birds :) Now I know the place he was talking about. Thanks Jerry ;) The seeds that we planted on Tuesday are already starting to come up! We worked on his exercises and he even did the first set all the way to 10! We worked on word, phrases and sentences and fill in the blank's. He needs to work on those some more so I left the paters out for him to look at. He told me he would practice them. We took the long way around the building to my car and then he went to lunch.

When we were done with exercises, Michael chose to do his word/picture matching. I gave him a choice out of three different things to do. I had him tell me what each item was used for. He was showing me that he was out of bird food. He couldn't remember the name of the store where he got it before but I mentioned going to Walgreen's cause it was close and see if they had any. They didn't have any so we bought some seeds and went back and planted the seeds in two of his pots. It will be fun to watch them grow. We will probably get a full grown plant or flowers and put it in his other pot. We took the long way to my car, it was a nice day. 

Today at Highland Cove, they were having a Memorial Day luncheon outside. It was nice and overcast to keep it cool. We did one set of Michael's exercises and then worked out with his weights. He was telling me that he was going to go fishing with Jerry. He was showing me something in his fridge, I thought it was going to be food but it was a carton of worms! I wasn't expecting that... It's supposed to rain so they will try to go fishing on Monday. 

I came over a little later today. Michael was sitting upstairs in the foyer. He took me downstairs to show me the note about his fridge. I turned it back on for him. It was defrosting. We talked about birdhouses and decided to go and look at Dollar Tree and then go to Walgreen's and out to lunch. Dollar Tree didn't have any birdhouses. (I want to get a plain wooden one that he can paint himself). We walked over to Big Lots but they didn't have any either. We went and picked up the things on his list at Walgreen's. He was really good at just going in the store and getting just what he needed without wanting to get other things too. We went to Burger King afterwards. He looked at his watch and was telling me we would be back 'just in time'. I wasn't sure what he was talking about but when we got back, he showed me the 'walk for a cause' at the front desk that they have been doing. I mentioned earlier that we needed to do his exercises, he just said 'no'. Now I know why. I guess he is a good walker and likes to go on the walks. I thought it was pretty cool that he wanted to get back for that. :)

Today after Michael's exercises, I had him make a list of a couple things that he needed at the store. We went to Walgreen's, but they were closed due to the power outage. I pole had fallen around 45th So. and power was out all over, even at Michael's. We were going to go and look for a birdhouse but the places we went today were all closed. We will go and do that on Tuesday. 

Today we had a nice long day. Michael was telling me about a new place. He didn't know the name, but knew where it was. We did his exercises first and then he showed me the 'new place'. It's called The Denim Connection. We looked around in there and he asked me if I liked it and said they have a lot of stuff in there. We drove to the Sugar house thrift shop and looked around in there. He picked up a movie there. D.I. was next but we just looked around. We went to eat at Millie's then went back to his place and started his new movie.

Michael had another Dr. Apt. Today so I didn't go over but will spend more time with him on Tuesday.
